Functional Polymers Lab

Exploring functional polymers for our sustainable future

Our research aims to explore polymeric membranes, films, and coatings with a variety of functions for energy, environmental, and electronic applications. We use a number of techniques including polymer synthesis, polymer blending, and nanocomposite to develop advanced functional materials.

Membranes for Energy and Environmental Applications

Energy and Environment applications-4.jp

We're studying new polymer electrolyte membranes for anion exchange membrane fuel cells, which are capable of reducing the usage of notable metals. Also, we'd like to make some efforts on nanocomposite membranes for CO2 gas separation.

Functional Materials for Electronic Applications

We're working on stretchable conductors that can be used as electrodes, interconnects, and pressure sensors, depending on their stretchability and piezoresistivity.

Industrial-acedemia collaborations

Pharma Congress, Pharmaceutical Industry

We're currently collaborating with two industrial companies, Rainbow Package Industrial Co. and Taiwan Surfactant Co. These two collaborations are respectively focusing on the developments of optical films and toughening additives for advanced applications.
